The Story Behind Plain White T's - Rhythm Of Love

When i first heard this song,i thought Plain White T's have a new member but it turn out to be their guitarist Tim Lopez who sang that song. This song is a beautiful song and Tim's voice is surprisingly good.I'm kinda surprise coz i never heard him sing before.Anyway, this song was written by Tim himself and there's a story behind that song.

This song was written for this girl that he was dating while they were making their last album out in Malibu. They have a lot of history.he have known her since he was 11 or 12. he wasn't really emotionally available to her at the time.He hadn’t completely gotten over his divorce, so when the band left on tour, he decided it wasn't right to try to keep the relationship going so they called it quits. It was only over the last year or so that he realized what he walked away from. The song was an attempt to rekindle things and win her back. She's currently dating someone else, and he's happy for her. But in case it doesn't work out... who knows?

Tim later revealed in an interview that the name of the girl that inspired Rhythm of Love is Christy

LYRICS

My head is stuck in the clouds
She begs me to come down
Says "Boy quit foolin' around"
I told her "I love the view from up here
Warm sun and wind in my ear
We'll watch the world from above
As it turns to the rhythm of love"
We may only have tonight
But till the morning sun you're mine all mine
Play the Music low and sway to the rhythm of love

My heart beats like a drum
A guitar string to the strum
A beautiful song to be sung
She's got blue eyes deep like the sea
That roll back when she's laughing at me
She rises up like the tide
The moment her lips meet mine
We may only have tonight
But till the morning sun you're mine all mine
Play the Music low and sway to the rhythm of love

When the moon is low
We can dance in slow motion
And all your tears will subside
All your tears will dry

Ba-ba ba-ba ba-ba baba
Da da-da dum da-da dum
Ba-ba ba-ba ba-ba ba-ba
Da da-da dum da-da dum

And long after I've gone
You'll still be humming along
And I will keep you in my mind
The way you make love so fine
We may only have tonight
But till the morning sun you're mine all mine
Play the music low and sway to the rhythm of love
